Acts of Kindness Campaign

We are excited to announce the launch of City Church’s Acts of Kindness Campaign as part of our mission to share God’s love with the world! In 2 Samuel 9:1-3, David sought out someone to show kindness to for the sake of Jonathan, demonstrating the heart of God through simple, intentional acts of love. Likewise, Romans 2:4 reminds us that it’s God’s kindness that leads us to repentance. In the same way, your acts of kindness can reveal God’s heart to the world around you.

Every small gesture, when done with love, can be a powerful demonstration of God’s love. Whether you offer a helping hand, a kind word, or a thoughtful gift, you’re reflecting the grace and mercy God has shown you.

Here’s how you can engage in this rewarding challenge:

1. Choose an Act(s) of Kindness

  • Make It Meaningful: Pick an act of kindness that speaks to your talents, passions, or relationships. If you love cooking, prepare a meal for a neighbor or a family in need. If you enjoy encouraging others, write a thoughtful note to someone going through a tough time.
  • Be Creative: Think outside the box! Make your acts personal and unique. Creativity adds joy and depth to the experience, and you never know how much it could bless someone.

2. Pray

Before and after each act of kindness, take a moment to pray. Ask God to bless the person you’re serving and to reveal Himself to them through your actions. Prayer turns an ordinary act into an extraordinary encounter with God’s love.

3. Join with a Belong Group or Small Group

Acts of kindness are even more powerful when done together. We encourage you to team up with your Belong Group or ministry team and participate as a community. Together, you can make a greater impact and deepen your bonds with one another.

4. Acts of Kindness Cards

Starting on September 29th, grab an AOK (Acts of Kindness) card from the main foyer on Sundays. These cards are a great way to invite someone to church after you bless them. The card says, “This small act is just a way to say, Jesus Loves you, and so do we".

Together, we can reflect God’s heart to our friends, neighbors, coworkers, and family through these small yet significant acts of love. Let’s share God’s love with the world, one act of kindness at a time.
