Christmas - The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Matthew 1:18-24


1. Christmas Jesus was a special event

Luke 2:8 Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night.


2. Debate Over Christ’s Nature

John 1:1 In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God.

John 1:14 and the Word became Flesh and dwelt among us


3. Christmas is not a Pagan Holiday


4. Christmas is not in the Bible

Philippians 1:18 But that doesn’t matter. Whether their motives are false or genuine, the message about Christ is being preached either way, so I rejoice. And I will continue to rejoice. (NLT)

Philippians 1:8 and I am going to keep that celebration going because I know how it’s going to turn out. (Message)


5. Christmas Trees are not Demonic

Jeremiah 10:3, 4 For the religious practices of the nations are delusions. They cut down a tree from the forest then a craftsman fashions it with his hands. He adorns his idol with silver and gold.


6. Santa

John 3:16 For here is the way God loved the world-he gave his only, unique Son as a gift. So now everyone who believes in him will never perish but experience everlasting life. (TPT)

Matthew 1, we see 4 women mentioned among many in the long list of genealogy. individually, you’ll notice that they had quite a sinful past. Among the woman listed are Rahab, the prostitute; Tamar, the abused; and Bathsheba with whom David committed adultery. All these women had a past.

Matthew 1:21And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.
