Isaiah 40:31

Stress is the factor in the 5 of the 6 leading causes for death.

·       Heart disease

·       Cancer

·       Stroke

·       Respiratory disease

·       Accidents

Natural demands are placed upon us from family, school, careers.

Stress = a state of being on alert, worry, anxiety, fears, real or perceived for present or future threat.

1. God will not give more than He can handle.

1 Corinthians 10:13, 14 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.

2 Corinthians 1:8-10 For we do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, of our trouble which came to us in Asia: that we were burdened beyond measure, above strength, so that we despaired even of life. Yes, we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves but in God who raises the dead.

2. He renews our strength.

Isaiah 40:9 O Zion, you who bring good tidings, Get up into the high mountain; o Jerusalem, you who bring good tidings, lift up your voice with strength, lift it up, be not afraid.

Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

2 Corinthians 12:9 And He said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.

Exodus 15:2 The Lord is my strength and song and He has become my salvation.

Proverbs 24:10 if you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small.

3. Strategy is in God’s strength.

1 Samuel 30:6 Now David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him, because the soul of the people was grieved, every man for his sons and daughters. But David strengthened himself in the Lord God.

1 Samuel 30:8 So David inquired of the Lord, saying, Shall I pursue this troop? Shall I overtake them? And He answered him, Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all.

Isaiah 40:31 But those who wait on the Lord will shall renew their strength. They will Mount SOAR high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.

1. Soar above the clouds.

2. Run like an athlete.

3. Walk in faithfulness.
