5 Levels of Relationship with the Holy Spirit
1. Born Again by the Spirit
John 3:7 Do not marvel that I said to you, you must be born again.
John 3:5 born of the water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.
2. Spirit upon you
Matthew 3:16 …He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him.
3. Lead by the Spirit
Matthew 4:1 Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.
4. Overcome
Luke 4:4 But Jesus answered him, saying, it is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.
5. Empowered by the Holy Spirit
Luke 4:14 Then Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit..
2 Corinthians 3:17 Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty
Benefits of a Relationship with the Holy Spirit
1. Comfort
2 Corinthians 1:4 Who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
Psalms 23:4 yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
2. Wisdom
1 Corinthians 2:12-13 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God. These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
3. Growth
Acts 9:31 then the churches throughout all Judea, Galilee, and Samaria had peace and were edified. And walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, they were multiplied.
